No, not Alexander Rossi but the lady there in between Rosberg and Hamilton is an American aerodynamics engineer for Mercedes
USA, USA!

I thought it was super classy how Lewis and Nico tried really hard to get her white shirt to go transparent.

Really spoils the moment of having a lady on the podium

And yet, she is apparently destined to be left nameless...

What’s even more awesome was she was wearing cowgirl boots during the Austin GP.

And not just an aerodynamics engineer for a Formula 1 team. A female engineer for a Formula 1 team. That would have been pretty much unheard of 25 or so years ago. In fact, I'd guess that women are a pretty big part in motorsports nowadays.

She dressed for the occasion. Sports bra to the rescue.

And I’m sure she’s in a pretty senior position as well to be allowed on the podium. Leena Gade is also a super badass. First female race engineer to win Le Mans and she was brought into Audi by none other than H himself on pure merit. When you pass H, you know you’re a badass engineer.

Yeah, it's nice to see women getting into the field. It means that my motorsports engineering classes won't be a sausage fest like I feared.

That’s for sure. I never noticed how important diversity in the work place is until I started working.
Nice! What kind of engineering?

Women for sure raise the morale in a workplace.
And the degree is literally “motorsports engineering”. It’s like an aerodynamics, mechanical, automotive, and IC engine engineering course all wrapped up into one. http://www.engr.iupui.edu/departments/en…

ha! the ration is usually something like 10%, but a lot of those are bio or civil, mechanical is like 5% in my experience
